Keystone Talent Bank, the leading provider of online student employability and recruitment solutions in the UK, has partnered with student wellbeing service WhatsUp? to provide universities with a groundbreaking suite of student support services.
The WhatsUp? smartphone app provides students with daily tools that promote positive mental health and wellbeing in a secure, confidential and intimate manner, directly to the student’s mobile.
WhatsUp? allows a student to anonymously share their thoughts, raise concerns for a fellow student, ask questions, send messages and access bitesize advice and guidance on essential wellbeing steps.
Keystone Talent Bank is already a provider of online student employability solutions to universities across the UK, giving students access to part time work opportunities 24/7 from their laptop or mobile. Keystone have agreed to partner with WhatsUp? due to the synergies in their product and approach.

The partnership comes at a time when student welfare and wellbeing is high on the agenda for many universities. From next year the Office for Students (OfS) will replace both the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) and the Office for Fair Access (OFFA) and will have an explicit legal duty to promote choice and consider the student, employer and taxpayer interests and to promote equality of opportunity.
With the interests of students much more at the heart of university initiatives there is a growing focus on making sure student wellbeing services are available 24/7 both on and off campus. Having wellbeing facilities that are fixed on-campus and only available during office hours is increasingly outside of the needs of students, and so a smartphone app is the obvious next-generation way to interact with students.
The WhatsUp? smartphone app is confidential and secure, and allows back-office support from Wellbeing Teams and other resources to help students with their concerns and queries. Students can follow daily tips, raise concerns, send and receive messages and access resources and assistance all directly via the WhatsUp? service.
WhatsUp? is highly configurable and each deployment to a university is bespoke to match the key messages and approach of each university.
